By installing or using the VeritasAI Chrome extension or visiting veritas-ai.news, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What VeritasAI Does

VeritasAI is a Chrome extension that extracts factual claims from news articles and verifies them against publicly available sources. It surfaces confidence levels and cited sources to help readers evaluate news coverage. It never issues a definitive true or false verdict.

3. No Warranty

VeritasAI is provided "as is" without any warranty of any kind. AI-generated fact-checks may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. Results should not be treated as definitive or authoritative. We make no guarantee that:

• Fact-check results are accurate, complete, or current
• The extension will work on all websites or articles
• The service will be available at any given time
• Sources surfaced are reliable or unbiased

4. Limitation of Liability

VeritasAI and its creator are not liable for any decisions made based on fact-check results. You are solely responsible for how you use the information provided by the extension. We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

5. AI-Generated Content

Results are generated by AI models and web search APIs. They reflect the state of publicly available information at the time of the search and may not reflect subsequent developments. Political lean labels are derived from third-party data sources (AllSides, Ad Fontes Media) and represent editorial assessments, not objective fact.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use VeritasAI to harass, defame, or harm any individual or organization
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or replicate the pipeline or proprietary logic
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits or abuse the backend API

7. Third-Party Services

VeritasAI uses third-party APIs including Anthropic (Claude) and Brave Search to process requests. Your use of VeritasAI is also subject to their respective terms of service.

8. Changes to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue VeritasAI at any time without notice. We may update these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Intellectual Property

The VeritasAI name, extension code, pipeline architecture, and website content are the intellectual property of Rian Chadha. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the service without explicit written permission.
